Linking up with Charlotte and Ginger at Spiritual Sunday
"Faith is like radar that sees through the fog-the reality of things at a distance that the human eye cannot see." Corrie Ten Boom
We were away...up north....in the mountains...having a blast....and then....on the way home....coming back....we took a wrong turn...and drove for five hours before realizing we had no idea where we where going.
We flipped on the radio and heard a storm warning for the next day. We wanted to get home before that happened...but we couldn't make it.
Finally exhausted, we pulled over, stopped the car....held hands and prayed. We didn't make it home but we found a perfect hotel....and they they had a room and waterpark for the kids. We had a great night.
My 15 yr. old said, Everything happens for a reason.
I thought.....There was no reason this happened.....we just made a wrong turn.
The next morning driving home...we heard on the radio....a terrible storm had passed in our hometown.....trees down, electricity out, damage to homes and cars. My dgt. piped up, Everything does happen for a reason.
God knew.....our wrong turn turned out to be a right road. Makes me think.....just b/c something doesn't make sense at the time.....I'm gonna trust 'cause He knows what's down the road...He knows how to protect us....and keep us safe.
To everyone in the path of Hurricane Irene...stay safe......Praying that for all of you.
This is my song of praise to You for who you are and all that you do......

Hi there Nikki, thanks for paying me a visit and leaving your sweet comment!
Everything DOES happen for a reason! Happy that your wrong turn was actually a RIGHT turn:) God knows our next step and I am so thankful for that!
Have a blessed day my friend, HUGS!
God certainly does know what we need and his Angels try hard to guide us along th eright path (even if we think its not the correct one) .. keeping the faith and believing in Him, will always be the correct path... Blessings xo HHL
Hi Nikki,
I am so glad that you found your way home!! and it is interesting in life too that even a "wrong" turn could be a right turn.
I am worried about the people on the east coast...this is so scary and I pray that everyone is safe.
Wishing you a wonderful weekend.
XO
Cindy

Thank you for sharing this affirmation of God working in your life. There are so many instances when things that seem like inconveniences save us from much worse things, if only we realized it. Praying as well for those in the path of Hurricane Irene. Blessings to you!
I am a firm believer in everything happens for a reason and each day I can see God's hands in my life giving me direction. Keeping everyone in my prayers.
Love this post.. I am learning to see that as I travel down this road, that every turn.. and detour are all on purpose! God has a plan.
Thank you so much for sharing, have a very blessed weekend.

This is a very inspiring story, and I have seen this kind of thing happen more than once. You are loved and being watched over!
He will always be there to light our paths. Now, we just need to take heed! Blessings!
Thank you for sharing this post, I love the song.
He is a faithful Father! Thank you for this testimony to His goodness.
Beautiful song..I hadn't heard it before. Much of life is just about trusting that He does all things for reason: for we cannot see why most of the time.
This whole post gave me goose bumps, your story, then the song presentation.
I was supposed to click here tonight. (Everything happens for a reason...right?!!!)
Thank You!
PEACE!
Whenever my inlaws were held up for traffic or other reason my father-in-law always said, "God must be saving us from something." It's a good way to look at difficulties. And so great that your family had some special time together.
Blessings,
Pamela
This photo is SO moving!
While I've no first-person experience (that I'm aware ofI totally agree with your daughter about everything happening for a reason.
At least, that's what I tell myself when befuddled or stuck in a jam.
So glad God knows the twists and turns we need to take. We can't see far enough ahead. This is a beautiful example, Sarah. Thanks for sharing.
Praise God for His awesome provision for y'all. And praise God for your kids and you knowing and trusting in His provision in the midst of this. :) Have a blessed week.
This story reminded me of our own..times we have been held back, missed a turn, kept from being somewhere we thought we should be and protected by God from harm....
Love the song you posted here too. Beautiful pictures and verses and music....Have a wonderful day!
Thank God for His protection and guidance. I loved that beautiful, encouraging video. Blessings
Your daughter is one wise young lady! Glad you were all safe...God knows how to keep us that way!

Such wisdom in that is shining through your daughter. :)
Hugs,

How wonderful that He not only provided a place to stay, but also a waterpark for the kids.
So glad you made it safely home.
Thank you for sharing this. I totally agree, I can't tell you the amount of times I have taken wrong turns and they've turned out to be blessings, or rescues in disguise.
Love the message in this post. I believe this too. Thank you for visiting. Your comment was lovely. Blessings,
Lynn
I love this story, and I needed the reminder VERY MUCH right now that God doesn't give you a detour (even within your own home) without a good reason. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
And thank you also for your encouraging email and prayers.
Love this post. Thank you for sharing your thoughts! I checked out all 3 of your blogs. Amazing. Following back.
I love to be reminded that God has a bigger plan and better view of life than we ever good. Thanks for sharing this.
So many things have happened in my life that I thought were mistakes but the longer I live the more I see God's hand in it all. Detours are not always bad as you found out. Thank you for sharing this encouraging post.
Blessings,
Charlotte
