Thankful thursday

Linking up with Dayle at Simple Pleasures

If the only prayer you said was thank you, that would be enough." Oprah Winfrey

This week has been uneventful....yet at the same time...pretty amazing. I'm grateful for so much....for so many things that fill my days with His best. Things like.....

-I was supposed to have had a large kidney stone sitting in my kidney but when I went to the specialist...he took more x-rays....amazingly now it showed nothing...clear...no stone..I think it's b/c we prayed.....and He heard.
-good friends.....all week.....we got together with friends to have fun.... hike....relax.... Friend's I've known forever and newer friends that have recently come into our lives.
-having a hawk-eye kind of kid - my ten year old notices everything...things I wouldn't see if she wasn't hanging with me. The other night we came home after a looooong walk. It was dark and I never  noticed what was right next to us with it's tail up...My youngest shouted, 'skunk!'  Even though we were afraid of getting sprayed, we loved seeing him.
-Summertime stuff you just can't do in winter.....like wilderness water rides...swimming in the lake....eating ice cream under the stars....smelling flowers in the dark.....and so much more
-His presence....knowing no matter what....He's there....always.

My favorite this week is the hawk eyed kid. I love to be around people like that because they turn EVERYTHING into an adventure.

I'm glad you didn't get the "full" skunk adventure, though.

That is awesome sister that the stone vanished! The pain from it is no fun!

Love the way you point all the simplest things that give you joy back to the One Who deserves it all, our praises and thanks! Have a lovely Thursday and God bless and protect you always.

Sounds like you had a lovely week. So glad to hear that the kidney stone is gone. My brother-in-law frequently suffers from them. Hiking is one of my favorite things to do. Hubby walked tonite and came back looking like someone dumped a bucket of water on him. Very humid out there today. Have a wonderful rest of the day. Tammy

Praise God for your healing! I have heard that a kidney stone is one of the worst pains there is. I hope you did not suffer much! Yes, I am enjoying the summer so much, but can you believe school starts in two weeks? Time flies the older we got. Glad you didn't get sprayed, yikes!

I have had my share of kidney stones and their not fun.

Oh my! A skunk close enough to spray.
Skunks are not my favorite animal.

Sounds like your having a fun summer.

PTL (The Great Healer) for no kidney stone!

Glad the skunk situation turned out so well! :)

And love the summer things you named and you are so right - the Creator of all those things is always there with us and He wants us to enjoy his creation.

I am very encouraged by this post Sarah. Especially your healing. You got to love that skunk. When I was young a bunch of us kids tormented a skunk in the yard and we paid for it. Blessings.

You summed it up perfectly,
"Summer time stuff you can't do in the winter.".
To me, that is a simple pleasure all in it's self.

Wonderful news on the medical report. Yay, God!

And a real blessing, escaping the skunk's wrath. LOL! That would've been a bit stinky, I'd say.

How wonderful for you that the k-stone disappeared! He is so generous, loving and gracious in our lives! And the skunk..... lol. One of my closest girlfriends growing up had one as a pet. Percival was his name... So, I guess I have a little soft spot for the critters ;O)

Kidney stones are no fun. So glad it was gone. I love hawk-eyed kids, too. I had a couple of them myself.

Thank you Father for the healing!

Many years ago, I was walking outside with my oldest daughter (she's now 27 now) and noticed she was looking up. I looked up and saw what she saw, the sun shining through the leaves of the pecan tree, the breeze moving the branches and realized how pretty it was and how many times I had missed it until she made me stop and look.

Love the quote.
