Thankful Thursday

Linking up with Dayle at Simple Pleasures

Go outside...amidst the simple beauty of nature...and know that as long as places like this exist, there will be comfort for every sorrow, whatever the circumstances may be." Anne Frank

June 3rd....summer's here and it's hit with a whomp!!!! Hot. Humid and everything in brilliant color. I like to be out in the woods and even on the hot humid days that's where my heart pulls me. I often drag my kids with me. They usually start out whining about how hot and tired they are but once in the thick of the woods they start to really enjoy being outside. And  sheltered by the trees is a great way to stay cool. This week I'm grateful for:

-living near so much incredible nature stuff. Our home is on the lake and we live near mountains and hills and an incredible bird sanctuary.
-being able to see and smell the awesomeness of His creation. The smell of some of the flowers and plants are better than anything man made.
-seeing the many spring babies that have recently hatched. There's a thrill in watching them grow.
-our like-minded neighbours who are just as crazy about the natural environment we live in as we are. Those who are older often point out so many neat things to us and they love teaching my kids the names of birds and flowers and plants.
-And mostly...that He loved us enough to give us the wonderful gift of  His creation.

Finally got your link working. What had happened, somehow, you had entered the quote from Anne Frank (which I love, by the way) as your URL. It took me awhile to find your blog, but it's all working now.

Thanks for linking up, as always.

The one thing I love about summer is that I finally slow down enough to really enjoy His creation. What a blessing and inspiration it is!

Sarah - sounds like a wonderful place to live. I'm always so happy when I can be outdoors.

one of the remarkable things that God has done in me since beginning to heal from my past abuse is to tune my mind into His wondrous creation. i find solace in my front yard, or just looking out the window. the beach is a heavenly place, especially when the dolphins are dancing around the bay just outside the rock jetty. i went to the zoo for the first time in quite a while about a week ago, and i was completely entranced by the beautiful animals and their stunning new habitats. you look around at all the animals and birds and it is amazing that anyone could have the imagination that God has! love your post ;O)

Ah Sarah ... thank you for the "whack" up the side of my head!
Now comes the time of year in Phoenix which I dread. Instead of moaning/groaning re. the heat, I need to seek - then embrace - the good it brings.
