Thankful Thursday

Linking up with Dayle's awesome  Simple Pleasures

"I want to thank you, Lord, for life and all that's in it." Maya Angelou

Saying thank-you fills up all those empty spaces.....and reminds me how much I've been given.. When I say thank-you....I feel peace inside.....a sense of calm...a definite simple pleasure.

-I'm grateful I'm pretty healthy. I got hit with the flu this week. It lasted 24 hours but long enough for me to think about those who battle illnesses and struggle daily with weakness and fatigue.
-A good friend of mine has six kids. She's blind. She's never been able to see and although she's positive and never feels sorry for herself....I'm grateful for my eyesight that lets me see the sweet smiles of my girls....and the beautiful flowers beginning to bud.
-A co-worker called and asked if I would help her. She's turned to alcohol to deal with past pain....a habit she can't kick.  I'm grateful what he did for me so I can give hope to others. It was His touch...the touch of His gentleness that broke through the pain and made the difference. He did it for me. He can do it for anyone.
-Springtime....after a long winter it's so good to get outside....smell the earth again and hear the sweet sound of birds. Everyone seems happier. It reminds me the hard stuff in our lives doesn't last forever.
-I'm grateful for life....and all that it brings. There was a time....my I didn't want to live. Now...I'm grateful for every day I'm given.

To wake up grateful, walk through our day grateful, and to rest our head on our pillow being grateful...That's a gift from Him.

Amen! An attitude of gratitude can take one a very long way. After a very long Winter, I'm thankful to hear a song sparrow outside my window today.

Blessings,
Sandi

What a a beautiful post full of gratitude. Spring has sprung here too, the sound of birds, one was a Robin. I have not seen any here yet, but I did when I was in Calgary for the wedding. They did have about 6 inches of snow, and then melting the next day. I sat outside today in the fresh air and listened to the birds. glad you are doing so well you are always in my thoughts and prayers. God Bless.

Thank you for reminding me how wonderful each day is...and how precious. It is easy to forget and take our daily blessings for granted. This was an especially meaningful post for me this morning.

Thank you also for visiting me and leaving such a nice message. To answer your question about the chair...yes, people are allowed to sit in it, it is perfect for my grandchildren at family dinners.(-:

It just goes to show that He does not waste anything -- our past hurts can help us to help others find healing through Jesus.

Sarah,
I'm so overwhelmed by all of the things you listed today...if only we all could stop to remember these. Thank you for all you do and for those you reach out to.

How wise and how blessed; to always be thankful leaves you open to always be blessed.

As usual, I found myself nodding as I read your list of gratitude. The one that stuck out to me (besides the blind mom...wow!) was the co- worker.

I understand completely what you mean there. It's wonderful to be grateful for what God did FOR you so that you can be a part of him doing it for others THROUGH you.

I lift your co worker right now. I know you'll be a blessing to her.
