Thankful Thursday

Linking up with Dayle at her awesome Simple Pleasures

"Gratitude creates the most wonderful feeling."  Gordon B. Hinckley

Saying thank-you keeps me focused. It reminds me where I was....where I am now.....how much I've been given. It helps me remember the important things....the things that count...those little things that make my heart swell with contentment....things like:

-the snow melting...and the temps rising. They're promising double digits by Friday.  I dream of being back in the hills......

-play-fighting with my ten yr. old. She's like the energizer rabbit....she never gives up....but neither do I. It's a great workout physically and laughing with her is the best.

-In school....my 14 yr. old is learning how to defend herself if she's ever attacked. I'm thrilled. I think it should be mandatory for all girls. She's my tree-hugger....gentle wouldn't hurt a fly kid....it's funny how she's loving this. And I'm loving that she's learning some street smarts the safe way.

-connections with some amazing people who survived some tough stuff and are now working to make a difference. I've linked up with some of them and although what we survived is different....the fight has been simliar.....

-the best thing...knowing He's always with me....gives me hope, courage and peace.....knowing He's running with me....always there...in my corner makes all the difference....in the good times....and the not so good times....

Yes Sarah...saying Thank You to Him that brought you out of whatever trials happened before.

Seeing the blessings that surround you - in your children, in the temperatures, in the beauty that surrounds you.

Thank you is freeing...isn't it?

Maria.

Oh yes on defending yourself...I so wish my daughter had of take that class at a very early age, but then we can only prepare so much and leave the rest in the hands of a mighty God who restores and redeems.
Love the playing with child....by far the most rewarding exercise!

I hope it's as warm there today as it is here! This is a good thing your daughter is doing! Especially if she is so gentle natured, she needs to know how not to be taken advantage of. Is she learning this in regular school, I've never heard of that, or is this special separate classes? I agree, I think every girl should learn this before they are in the mid-teens.

Sarah,
What a great idea...teaching young women in the art of self defense. I also can just see you "mock fighting" with your 10 year old! Great memories you are making with both of them.
