Spiritual Sunday "Promise"

Thanks so much Charlotte and Ginger for always hosting these great Spiritual Sundays.

"Never promise more than you can perform." Publilius Syrus

My youngest is always asking me to promise her something or other......but I won't...not unless I'm really sure I'm prepared to keep that promise. I want her to know she can always trust me....trust what I say....depend on my word.

For a long time I struggled with trust. I didn't believe what anyone said...because they promised one thing....and did something different. But then I took a risk....trusted His promises....and He came through...not once...not twice but over and over and over again. He showed me....I can trust Him to never let me down....that what He promises....He always follows through on.

He's provided this neat contract...one I think that I've been given the better part of - it's got His promise....His guarantee...His assurance....that whatever I ask for - He'll do it. To me...that's pretty incredible!

Today....I'm taking Him at His word....I'm holding onto His promises for some neat people who I know really need them.

-Gaye Anderson: to be completely healed from cancer
-Bernie On My Own for comfort, January's been a hard month with many losses
-Rosel Off the Beaten Trek relief and resolution from the problems at work
-Debbie Debbie's Daily Dribble freedom from chronic pain
-Wanda Wanda's Wings comfort for depression & eating disorder
-Others are listed at Prayer Needs  anyone can add their name for awesome support.

All Your promises are true.....

Hi my sweet sis from up North :). What a great feeling to wake up knowing that one and many other are interceding for specific needs! This week would be a big step for me sis. Yes, I do need your prayers because I am fighting back and once I give this blow, it will be a huge battle from now on...My prayer is for the Lord to sustain me with His strength and protect me as I will be fighting not with one but many of them in power. But if He wants all those dark things exposed, let it be exposed into His light and I am a willing vessel to accomplish it for His glory...You're right, knowing how faithful He is, we have nothing to be afraid of. "What can man do to me?" It is because of Him I can brag about that.
Thank you sister for keeping me in your thoughts and prayers. It's important we all pray for each other because we are all under constant attacks from our spiritual enemies. But because of Jesus, we are victors in His Holy Name! Love you sis and keep shining brightly!

Sarah, what a powerful post today. I will lift everyone's name up to the Lord for healing. This is a great way for all of us to pray for others.

I feel the same way about broken promises. They are not really worth much if they are not honored.

As for trust, I do trust but only our Father. Seems that promises and trust go hand in hand and everyone that I once trusted as a child broke those promises. I am comforted by God's promise to be with us always.

It seems in today's society keeping one's word is many times not even expected. I'm grateful for all the people in my life who do keep their word, and especially grateful for the One who never ever goes back on a promise. Thank you for sharing this. I love that song on the video.
Blessings,
Charlotte

Yes and Amen...this blogging world has expanded my prayers as I lift up needs from all over the world...We can trust Him, because the rest of us fall short of the glory, and live in a fallen world.

Oh I can echo your heart on this! Fear has always been one of my biggest struggles. It's amazing how God has been changing me, creating in me faith. Though I still fear, as I wait on Him and practice faith, He is giving me the gift of great faith! Only God!

I’ve never heard this song, but it is just what I need. I’m really trying to depend more and more on the promises of God. I’ve always *known* them, but sometimes I wonder just how much I really trust them. Thanks for sharing. Always encouraging!

Hi Sarah, In Jesus name I believe for these prayers to be met also. Amen..
Yes people do let us down. So we need to make sure, we never do the same. Look at ourselves and what we do and not at others...and let Jesus shine through us, giving out His love for the human race to understand, He is the one true redeemer..God Bless. xx

Very wise to ponder promises to your children. It's so easy for us to say "sure," then realize we can't do something. Thanks for great reminder and for the sweetly uplifting praise and worship music to encourage us to truly trust in the awesome promises of God in the Bible.

We will see them, hear them, feel them, experience them and believe them.
