Thankful Thursday

Thanks Dayle for hosting Simple Pleasures

"I want to thank you, Lord, for life and all that's in it." Maya Angelou

We spent the day sightseeing San Fransisco...my youngest bounced and giggled through most of it.  At one point...overcome with excitement....she threw her arms around me and said thank you for bringing her to this fun city.  It was a good feeling to see and hear her joy and appreciation. It made me even more grateful for all that He's given me. This week....I'm really thankful for....

1.The steward on the plane who gave my kids extra ice cream and cookies...which made them very content and happy.
2. All the kind people who not only stopped to help us out with directions but took extra time to point out some things that were worth checking out.
3. The great staff at one particular restaurant. We couldn't make up our minds what we wanted. The staff were patient and had us all laughing. They tried to get us to take a risk....order something we had never eaten...we said sure...then changed our minds and being the chickens that we are....we went for the same old same old....
4. My youngest and I got high on grass in San Fransisco...the good kind..the one growing in gardens all over the city... We couldn't drink in enough of it's sweet rich fragrance....
5. Knowing He's on the trip with us....that He's always here...at home...wherever we are. Knowing that takes away the fear and allows me to let go....and have fun.

Knowing He is on the journey with us allows us to let go and have fun.
I enjoy a beautiful meadow with it's soft green grass.

Sounds like a great trip, Sarah! Isn't it wonderful to know He is always with us? I always traveled with Chickie, just the two of us for the years I was single. I remember seeing blessing and provision for us every step of the way too.

Sarah, thank you so much for stopping by the cottage...it was a pleasure to read your words.

Hi Sarah,
So glad you and the kids had such a great time there -sounds like a good place to relax and just have fun! Is it San Francisco that has lovely old painted houses? Being an Aussie, I've only seen it on TV lol!
bless you..Trish

What a wonderful thing to do with your kids! Something that they will always remember doing together!!! Glad to hear that you all did not partake of any pot, ha ha!! You are like me, when I go out to eat, I tend to stick with something I know I will like!

I love an adventure with kids. It's among my very, very favorite things. Isn't it amazing how many truly nice and kind people God puts in our paths? I want Him to use ME that way for others.

Seeing our children enjoying themselves is truly a fabulous, and sometimes elusive, simple pleasure. :)

I love the thought of green grass right now - since we are in the middle of winter. I can just smell the sweet fragrance.

Sarah,

Hello there dear friend! I just discovered your "other blog" over here. :)

At any rate, it sounds like you and your children had a wonderful time in San Francisco. I have been there too, and it's quite an interesting city to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there. Everything seems too crowded and close together.

Take care.

I love San Francisco. We used to live about 70 miles from there and so we went there many times. I'm glad you got to visit there.

I completely relate...I know the feeling of ordering that same thing over and over! I think that might be a comfort - a simple pleasure, even. :) Sounds like a great trip! So glad you enjoyed it.
