Spiritual Sunday "Taking my Candle"

Spiritual Sundays are hosted by Charlotte and Ginger. To join in post and add your name at bloggerspirit and Natasha

"As we are liberated....our presence automatically liberates others." MaryAnne Williamson

When I started blogging....I did it for me. I did it to get the memories out...to find some sense in everything that happened. But now...I realize it's not about me anymore. A 13 yr. old emailed me. Told me she found my blog....reads it every night to give herself hope. Her story is heartbreaking. All she wants is a family who will love her....care for her the way families are supposed to.

I never want to take for granted what He did. I didn't have the strength to break free. He did what I couldn't. What nothing could. He took over my fight... brought me into the winners circle. He did it. Now I want to go back to the darkness....and shine His light for others to find freedom too.

Please pray for O. ...for a miracle....for her to have that family.

I want to take my candle....and go light the world.

Dear Sarah,
Yes, it is not about us but sometimes that is a hard lesson to learn. I'm glad that your gentle and sensitive spirit has realized that not only were you saved for yourself but to take the light of Jesus Christ to a lost and dying world.

It is amazing how much darkness one candle can dispel. Go forth with joy and confidence dear sister, knowing that Jesus has gone ahead of you.

Great song!

Love, Dianne

Sarah, God can take the most horrible and difficult circumstances of our lives and turn them for good. In spite of the hardships you faced, you have turned them around and are reaching out to help others. I pray for this young girl and thousands others like her who need to hear of the blessed hope found only in Jesus.

Your post touched my heart more than usual ... perhaps because it hits a little too close to home. We are trying to create a family ... (since the accident I have been strongly advised by doctors to not carry a child) we have 5 embroys waiting ... but something tells us that there is yet another child(s) already born that need us... to hear this sweet girl needs a family .... and knowing there are so many families out there like us, who want nothing more than reach out and be that family (for family is not defined nor bond by blood ~ but by caring, loving, protecting and guiding)... our systems and all the red tape and backed up files make waiting a too long a journey...

I pray for this young girl that God is listening and through a Christmas Miracle brings her together with a family. xo HHL

How sad. You are giving her something that her family should and does not. At least you are there.

Sweet Sarah. I can't imagine what you've had to overcome ~ but I see great strength and courage in your being willing to "go back" to help others into the peace and safety of Jesus. My heart is touched for the 13 yr old as well, and will be praying for her. That's always been one of my favorite songs. Blessings.

I wasn't at work when it happened that the facility's power suddenly was turned off! Imagine the deep darkness that surrounded my co-workers and some of them admitted they felt panic deep inside, as they were not able to see, despite the fact it was daytime outside. But the prison having no windows and having thick walls, just made it so dark when the electricity was off.

Until someone turned on a flashlight, followed by the others. And they related how their fear went away when one light combined with others just illuminated the Clinic and they could see.

You are one of that flashlights, willing to share His light and I pray that like this girl, your story will encourage many, many more. The Lord knows her heart and may she feel in her heart that there is Someone Who truly loves her. God bless and protect you always. "Stay strong!" :)

May God give you wisdom for words to say Sarah as you continue to minister through your testimony and love. May God give O peace and an overwhelming sense of His love. There is nothing too big for God. He is good, and in Him we are overcomers. God bless :)

My breath has been taken away at the beauty of your words. So true: It isn't about us/me . . .it is all about Him -- the light of the world. We fall at His feet and He lifts us and lights our way. The glow brings others. Keep on shining sweet one.
