Spiritual Sunday "I can Almost See It"

Charlotte and Ginger host these super Spiritual Sundays. To join post and add your name at http://bloggerspirit.blogspot.com/

"In spite of everything I shall rise again: I will take up my pencil, which I have forsaken in my great discouragement, and I will go on with my drawing." Vince Van Gogh

Yesterday I spoke at a Women's Centre. I told my story. The women told me I inspired them....they asked if I would come back and do another workshop. And the Director said she wants to  take me to present to service clubs and agencies to show that recovery and healing is possible no matter how broken someone's life is. I felt pumped....knowing God is using what I lived to make a difference. Then I came home. And it hit - discouragement. A huge ball of discouragement. No reason for it....but it stayed and niggled at me for the rest of the night.

Sometimes I just get tired of the fight and the climb. Sometimes I just wish my life was normal...like other people's. But there is a strength in me...that fighter that won't stay down.  I know...
There's always gonna be another mountain, I'm always gonna make it move....and I'll keep on moving, keep on climbing, and keep the faith.....

Bless your heart...it IS a struggle but it will get easier over time. There are layers of wounds and scars that the Lord will heal. He only does one layer at a time. Just keep walking through those doors he is opening for you and see the awesome place he will take you. That discouragement is from the devil..he does not want you to reach the top of the mountain and will pull all kinds of nasty tricks. Just tell him to get.

Oh Sarah.. i feel the same way at times...discouragement hits hard. but like you said there is always going to be a mountain and we got to keep moving... by the strength that He provides.

Love this song Vid. thanks for posting. Have a beautiful weekend!!

I think the fight from satan is proof that eternal good has been done. When I am ready for the assault from him, then I tend to handle it better.

Oswald Chambers says we want to stay on the spiritual mountaintop most of the time, but it is down in the valleys where the true battles are fought and won.

God is with you, even there, especially there!

Love,
Dianne

I am so proud of you and your service to others!

Your post sounds so familar. It seems whenever there's a great Spiritual thing, the enemy quickly comes in to try and distract us from God. This is my life too!

But with Jesus, we will ALWAYS make it. Thanks for stopping by my blog. Have a great weekend also:) Blessings!

Satan is so good at discouraging us. Just when I think I am going full speed ahead with the Lord that rotten Satan discourages me! Some days I feel like throwing up my hands and letting it all go and then I hear that voice and I know He is never going to stop loving and carrying me through life's trials. You are one amazing woman, don't let that devil beat you at your greatest hope. Never feel hopeless or lost again. Just trust Him and remember you have many friends who are struggling on this side to. Plus you are so talented and you were able to lay down your entire journey so far for all to see. Never let go of what God has given you. You are so well loved. I personally am so proud of you and all you have done with your life. I am a whimp next to you. Hugs and Many Blessings Anne

The discouragment is from the enemy. He does not like what you are doing. So remember to "put on the full armour of God." It also helps to cast him out. I learned this prayer as a child:
~ In the name of Jesus Christ, in the power of His body and blood, I cast out Satan and all of his works.~ God bless you,Sarah.

Oh Sarah, there's lots I don't know - but I sooo believe Whidbey Woman's comment above.

And please, don't be disenchanted, believing everyone else's so-called "normal" lives. That's often a myth.....

YOU, my dear, are beautifully and wonderfully made!

When we are doing well in God's work, the devil wants to mess it all up. You have been given a gift and have found your voice. Take it and give thanks, don't let anything ruin your joy in this. Your life is different because people are to learn from it. When you get discouraged, just pray and thank God for showing you your place in his plan.

Great video. I am thrilled that you spoke to this group and that you will be given other opportunities. Keep on keeping on. Satan's greatest tool he uses against Christians is discouragement. However, evaluate each opportunity to speak and accept only those you feel good about.

Yes, it can get so discouraging when there's always another mountain to climb. But what a blessing your journey is to so many people. I admire you so much for your willingness to share your story. May God continue to give you strength for another day...

To whom much is given much is expected. I don't know where I hard that or whether it is from the Bible or not. I just know it immediately came to my mind when I read your post. You have been blessed and you are blessing many many people because of it. Thank you for blessing me and so many others who link to Spiritual Sundays. And don't let Satan discourage you because I know he is trying to do just that.

Dear Sarah,
What a message you are bringing to others! Whenever God gets the glory you can be sure old slewfoot is right behind to discourage you! Take heart and remember that the Lord is using you to bring hope and healing to others as well as yourself. We're all proud of you! Sending you a big hug!

Blessings,
Sandi

It is easy to get discouraged - I often do and then have my own personal pity party.

I like the Van Gogh quote. When I took my first writg class the instructor gave another of his, "if you hear a voice inside you saying you cannot paint, then by all means paint and that voice will be silenced." (I inserted write instead of paint and think of it often when I feel discouraged about my writing).

Blessings
Joan

That's right! The enemy knows you're serving God and doing some major damage to his evil schemes.
We're lifting you in prayer!

Many of us have a strong story to tell.
Not many know mine, yet those who do, don't know how I made it. But, in Him, nothing is impossible. At times it rears its ugly head, as satan wants nothing better than defeat Gods own...But Jesus promise rings true,He never leaves nor forsakes us. hugs. CML

You have chosen the perfect song to go with your story. Sometimes it is hard to go beyond our comfort zone but when we face our fears head on we can achieve so many wonderful things. Good luck to you Sarah as you face another hill to climb-you can do it. Just imagine what the view from the top will be like!

Best wishes,
Natasha.

Loved the post... Very beautiful indeed.
Move all the mountains and in forward:)

The enemy never changes his strategies but I have to say one thing. He is very consistent. We would do well to remember how Jesus handled the devil...with the Word. It is sharper than any two edged sword. God bless you sweet Sarah. You have pierced a huge hole in the prison the devil tried to put you in and you are leading others to freedom with you. God has big things planned for you and blessing upon blessing to take the place of all your past sorrow.
