Thankful Thursday

I'm linking up with two awesome blogs...Greg at http://gregsgeneralstore.blogspot.com/and Dayle's Simple Pleasures at http://alittleofthisandthat2.blogspot.com/

"An attitude of gratitude can make a world of difference---even in the midst of life's worst tragedies." Carole Lewis

Some things happen....things I don't understand.....things that hurt. Friends who seemed so perfect....go away...and break your heart....Doors close to what was.....having to let go...say goodbye to people, places and things....bringing a sadness that lingers somewhere deep inside....

Yet for every door that closes...every person who leaves....He brings something new.... I'm grateful for:

-every lesson He teaches  - even those painful ones
-the hard stuff in life that deepens my resolve to be the best I can be.
-New beginnings. New adventures.
-True Friends and Family that never leave....who prove over and over they're in for the long haul....
-The truth of His promises that have become my anchor to hang onto when there is nothing else.

You are such an inspiration to me Sarah...you have such a gentle strength that is beautiful. It is a wonderful blessing to have those in our life that do stay with us throughout all the rough spots....they do prove they are in it for the long haul, and that is such a comfort in life. Thank you for all your kind words over at my blog, and I hope you have a wonderful weekend! :-)

Oh Sarah! I so needed your post today. I lost my husband a few years ago and I am trying to find my way without him. I know God has great things for me but, right now I don't know what they are.
I know He is faithful!!!
Thank you so much for the beautiful lesson today.

Sarah, thank you for this post. I know this post all too well especially in the last year. It's never easy when one who you thought shared the love and respect as you do up and leaves for very superficial reasons. But, we do move on and find our footing once again. Albeit, with tears of sadness sometimes but eventually, they too will fade away. Wonderful post. Hugs. Tammy

I very much relate to some of your comments, like why friends break your heart. I'm experiencing that myself. It hurts. I'm also experiencing some of those painful lessons you speak of.

Your post reminds me to be grateful for them and to be grateful for the Friend who will never leave or foraske me.

Loved this. You regularly speak to my heart.

Yes, even though things fade away or go away,we are always left with something that we have learned...all along the path of our life. It seems that God sends us what we need at the time we need it, then we go on to other phases of our life.

I love this. God is good. He is fabulous. And He knows what we need, how we need and how we cope. I love your reminders!!

Sarah,
I have learned after many, many years to let go of the people who don't have my best interests at heart...it has made a world of difference in my life to only have people who love and respect me around me. Love you post.

So true, I believe this is so true with net friends. They come and go faster to me. Not as painful

As the old hymn says,

"One there is above all others,
Oh, how He loves!
His is love beyond a brother's,
Oh, how He loves!
Earthly friends may fail or leave us,
One day soothe, the next day grieve us;
But this Friend will ne'er deceive us:
Oh, how He loves!"

Hi Sarah,

Your right sad things happen, but like you said for every door that closes a new one opens! I love new adventures. I think I am at the point in my life where I am starting a new chapter of my life. It's sad to let go of old, but my mourning for that is over and now I am ready for this new chapter. Thank you Jesus and thank Sarah for making me stop and think about how excited I am!

Hugs and blessings,
Amanda
