Spiritual Sunday "Set the World on Fire".

Charlotte and Ginger host these awesome Spiritual Sundays. To join in, post and add your name at http://bloggerspirit.blogspot.com/

“Be the change you want to see in the world.” Mahatma Gandhi

There's this deep need I feel...a yearning...an ache that's so strong....to do something to make a difference in  the world. God's given me so much...more than I could have ever imagined possible. Everything in me hungers to give back....to shine His love.....to tell about His gentle touch that made all the difference.

I feel this deep hunger.....for Him to use what I lived....all those horrible things...to give back...to give hope. I don't want what He did...to be a waste - the freedom He's given....the kindness and love He's brought into my life.....the amazing joy and peace He's put in my heart.

He's become my best friend....a friend whose always there.....in my corner.....believing in me....and pushing me gently forward. I love Him....I really love Him. And because I love Him.....I want to set the world on fire.

So wonderful to see such a positive representative of our young women ~ especially since there seems to be a plethora of negative examples.....

This is a pretty song, I haven't heard it before. I would love to set the world on fire, but I'll settle for a small flame!

Great post. We ran into Brett Nicole at the airport in Birmingham last month. She was very sweet to my teenage daughter and seemed so genuine and faith-filled. It is nice to have those kinds of role models.

I can't image giving more delight to the Lord than for you to say "use me". You're already impacting your sphere of influence through your testimony. Wait on the Lord, keep to His ways, and He will cause you to inherit the land. Ps. 37
Blessings.

I know JUST what you mean, Sarah! I was trying to explain to one of my best friends back in the spring that I just felt this overwhelming NEED to DO something with what I've lived through to somehow 'validate' that God allowed me go thru it, even tho' I know that sin/evil was the cause. I needed to have something to define the PURPOSE for having to have gone thru it to begin with, OTHER than to come out the other side. Like just having lived thru it wasn't enough, there HAD to be something I was going to do with it! My friend's husband didn't really "get it", but she said she understood perfectly, "like parents of murdered children start foundations to help others so they can have a sense of DOING something to make their child's life (and death) have MATTERED, have COUNTED for something in the positive, not as a negative memory." I was like, "Yes, YES...that's IT exactly! (Now, if He'll just show me what to do with that.)" I'm starting here with the blog, and in recognizing it in others in order to offer help..even if it can only be someone to talk to about it. Abuse in any form is ugly. Against a child is reprehensible. I for one, am thankful that you are here to share with us what God puts on your heart to share. You're an amazing gift! Hugs & love sweet friend ~ Merana

Sarah,

This weeks Gospel for the Catholic church was the one with the rich man with the begger at his steps that dies and goes to the bossom of Abraham and he can't save the rich man. My pastor said that this was because the rich man sinned not because anything he did to the begger, but what he didn't do. It's the sin of ommission. So you are right one with sharing your love for Christ.

Hugs with blessings
Amanda

good encouragement, you know when I was a new Christian I remember talking to a friend that had been a follower of God for years. she said, "you haven't been a Christian long enough to be jaded yet." Isn't that sad. I hope and pray I never get there, may we stay on fire by his mercy and grace!

I want to do more as well... sowing kingdom seed everyday, along the way and as I go. Sometimes in big ways, but mostly in quiet, gentle ways that present themselves to me on a regular basis.

Christ and his cross are everything to me, and for as long as I have breath, I want to expend it on behalf of his grace.

Thanks for visiting the blog and for your prayers. You are welcome there anytime.
