Thankful Thursday

“There is no better way to thank God for your sight then by giving a helping hand to someone in the dark." Helen Keller

Something that always stayed with me has been the kindness of strangers who reached out and shone a light in my world. Today....I'm really thankful to all those people who helped me and made a difference in my world. I'm grateful to....

-the couple who let me sleep in the back of their store when the weather was freezing.
-the kitchen worker at the Greek restaurent who many nights prepared packages of food to give to me.
-the social worker who encouraged and supported me and who believed in me when I couldn't believe in myself.
-the banker who gave me $100 every month when I asked him for a loan.
And mostly
-God for His forgiveness and grace and promises to never leave...or give up on me. He never has. And that 'love' that hangs in....never lets go....is the greatest force in motivating me to live my best life.

Sarah...It is so wonderful to remember the kindness of others when our need was so great. To think back and be thankful is equally wonderful!

Our lives are so abundant when we are grateful for them and serve others. How wonderful that you had many grateful people who observed your needs and reached out to bless you...a win-win.

I relate very well to this, though not as as base of a level. When my husband lost his job a year or so ago, we learned what it was like to be "the least of these". I saw God with his skin on time and time again as I was the recipient of mercy from others. I will never forget it.

I pray that I can repay forward what was once given to me.

I love your post.

God must have touched those people before that drove them to give kindness to you who was in need at that time. Now, you're doing it, too. That's one thing I love about His fruits, the more you give and share, the more it grows and just don't get depleted. God bless sister and have a great day!

Such a great list, of the small things. They show us what we think is small, may be important.

Helping someone in the dark...oh How God sent help to me too, and never in my wildest dreams did I think I'd be at a point where I could do the helping...but with God ALL things are possible...And HOW THANKFUL I AM!!!
I so know.

It's wonderful how God uses people to help us when we are in need, and we in turn can share blessings with others, as you have done with your post!

This is simply awesome. And I'm elated to see that an encourager made your list. Sometimes I feel like I have nothing to give, but there are always kind words and encouragement. Thank you for reminding me of that today. And thank you, also, for your grateful heart.

Hope you have a very blessed weekend!
