Thankful Thursday

"Gratitude creates the most wonderful feeling."  Gordon B. Hinckley

We were at Costco last night. I'm always amazed when I'm there....going up the aisles...seeing the shelves stacked with tons of stuff......and even in the food court...their servings of oversized portions always reminds me of Fred Flintstone portions.

Being there.....looking at all the things.....I remember when I had nothing.....when I was dependant on the kindness of strangers....or social workers......I've been given much more than I even need. I never want to take any of it for granted. I am grateful for having:

-clean water to drink
-more than enough food
-tons of creature comforts
-freedom and rights to come and go as I want
-mostly though.....an abundance of His love and grace without which I would have none of the above.

Nikki,
I like what you are thankful for today. Every time I take a shower and as the water runs over my face, I thank God for clean water, fresh food and good ideas.

The first few lines of what you are thankful for today brought this little prayer of mine to mind. I think you are of the same ilk. Simple needs, easy to please.

Being near Him, we learn to be grateful of all the wonderful things He gives. After all, He's the Giver of all great things! God bless.

AMEN & amen & Blessings Sarah!!! I LOVE this little photo of the groundhog, prairie dog, whatever that looks like he's bowing his sweet little face in prayer, thanking God for his food... precious!!! YOU, too! Beautiful list of thankfulness... I (sigh) as I read the first...
sometimes I do and sometimes I don't so when I'm home in the USA, I really am more thankful for my blessings of comfort there but here, I long for much and I'm thankful each time I open the faucet and the water looks clean... I become very much aware of creature comforts!!! This creature is thankful for being so blessed!
Love your heart always...(((hugs))) Peggy

It really is about the basic necessities, isn't it? The rest is luxury. I love that picture!
