Spiritual Sunday . "He Loves Us Just Because"

I am really thankful to Charlotte and Ginger for doing Spiritual Sundays. I love reading the posts others write and it helps me to centre myself on God. Want to join in?  Post what's on your heart, then add your name @http://bloggerspirit.blogspot.com

This past week, a friend, co-worker and a Christian took her life. I'm having a hard time understanding why. She knew God, she was active in her church....she had a good network of friends. I don't think I'll ever understand but I want more than ever to reach out and share kindness and love with those in my world....He showed me so much love and so much gentleness - I really want to make a difference.

I have had to deal with suicide twice in my life; my mother and my sister. I still grapple with the "whys" and the "what" of what I could have done differently. I am so sorry to hear about your friend.

P.S. I have enjoyed reading your blog this morning.

I'm very sorry about your friend. A woman at our church did the same thing back in September. We were in choir together, but I didn't know her very well. It was the most difficult funeral I've ever been to. I know she struggled with depression. I do too, but medication really helps me. I just wish I could have done something to make a difference in her life.

Blessings, Leslie

It is sad about your friend....Sometimes people are really good at hiding. I know it breaks God heart, too. :(

This is one of my favorite C.D.'s and a great, simple song. Thanks for reminding me of it.
Blessings,
Tammy

How sad your friend was so despondent she took her life. I hope you can pray through this and find peace in the Lord.

Thanks so much for posting on my blog and telling me what your opinion was. I came to look at your blog on the right day. That song touched me, I have been strugglin whith life as my first post explains on my blog... and it had a true valid point that I know, but need to see more often. Thanks <3 you are a blessing to others. Truly sorry bout your friend.

I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. We can never know what another person is having to deal with their lives. I find that Christians who smile all the time and pretend they are too close to God to have problems make the people with problems think God doesn't love them as much. I think we all should be honest and say but by the grace of God there go I. I'm praying for you, Doylene

Sorry to hear of your loss. Several years ago, the same thing happened to me... a friend of mine, who was fairly active in church, committed suicide. She was going through a divorce. I was not aware of how serious her depression was. It came as quite a shock. For a long time, I felt guilty about it. Could I have done something? Why didn't any of us see this coming? Prayer got me through it. And yes, to this day- I still don't understand it. God bless you.
