Spiritual Sunday "Father's House".

To participate in Spiritual Sunday post what's on your heart and let Charlotte and Ginger know@ Thank you Charlotte & Ginger for doing this and giving us a chance to share our hearts with each other.

Friday I spent time with someone who told me her son was molested by their youth pastor. He was 8 at the time it happened. Now at 21 he's cutting himself, doing drugs and very angry. And his mother is disillusioned by the church. She trusted that man to bring her son into a relationship with God and instead that 'pastor' drove her son far away from the truth. When I became a believer I thought everyone who confessed Christ felt like I did - wanting to give back, to show His power....the power of His gentleness. I thought everyone in the church was safe. It's not always true and that makes me feel very sad. "Father forgive us and fill us and Your house with Your presence....."

It is sad we can not trust those who profess Christ as Lord....VERY, VERY, SAD!
Praying with you for this young man.

That was sad sister Sarah. I pray that this young man would still find healing in His loving hands. It is awful when a child of God does not reflect God's love and truth in his/her words and deeds. God bless you. And have a great weekend.

Yes, it is sad that even in the church trust can be broken. Lifting this young man up in prayer.

That is a very sad story. It is hard when someone you are suppose to trust lets you down in this way. However the truth is, the only one who you can really count on to NEVER let you down is Him. Everyone else is just a sinner saved by grace. I will pray for this young man that he might know healing. Blessings to you, Debbie

It's great that God loves imperfect people and welcomes them. But, it's not great that you have to be cautious about everyone - even people in the church. I hope that this pastor was charged with a crime and removed from his position of trust. I have an ex-brother-in-law lurking in a church somewhere and I can tell you he's a very dangerous man. He's a predatory pedophile who has molested more than one child and always been found not guilty. So, be cautious out there.

What a sad thing. We don't always know who to trust. Some who profess to be Christians really are not and some who are Christians are weak and find themselves doing things they are sorry for. They do so much harm to the cause of Christ.
I thought the video was very interesting. I had not heard that song before. Thank you for sharing it with us.

This story makes me sad but I rejoice when I remember that most Christians are not like this. I am thankful for all those who have given their lives to spread the good news. I will always be grateful for those who led me to Christ and those who set an example for me to follow.

Everyone we know will, most likely, disappoint us at one time or another. Sometimes tragedies such as the one you described occur. It can be very hard to move past such events, and without Christian guidance, sometimes impossible. I hope she gets her son the help he needs.

That is terrible , I am praying for him . We must not confuse mankind with God . Jesus will never fail us ,man will. Only Jesus can heal such deep mental & spiritual wounding . We don't understand suffering completely , but one thing is clear. When you suffer , it gives us keen insight to come along side others that have suffered as we have and give them some help.
Love in Christ,

Hi Sarah,

I'm glad I found this blog. Just thinking...the home and church, the 2 places where we as children expect to be safe and loved. Sad.
